Standing out in a crowd…
At Lone Star Kids Learning Center your child will be a star! Our classrooms have smaller overall group sizes within each age group. By keeping a smaller group, the students have a better opportunities to bond and become close with their teacher. Children that have a secure and nurturing bond with a caregiver will have the ability to learn at a faster pace.
Let’s grab a bite…
All our meals are homemade by Miss Rosa and are included in your tuition. We serve breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon daily snack. We participate in the Federal Food Program so all our menus are nutritional and meet diary needs for children, but are still kid-friendly and most of all YUMMY! We encourage “family style eating” and ask the children to help with clean up and serving. We want children to gain a good understanding about food and nutrition, as well as how to have a meal like a family.
Word on the street...
Lone Star Kids currently has after school pick ups from Jensen, Turner, Teague, Golden Acres, and Carter Loma. We also offer limited AM drop off so sign up quickly. If your child attends a school that’s not on our list, call us! If we can get a group together, we will start at a new school. As always at LSK, parents are our number one reference. Refer a friend and get a free week tuition!
Infant Program
6 Weeks - Crawling
Our youngest Lone Star Kids are on individual daily schedules that are set up by YOU. We work closely with all infant parents to make sure that the daily routine can be as close to yours at home. This helps keep the transition from home to school as seamless as possible. Each of our children are special, but the babies here at LSK get that little something extra. If you cant find our Director Miss Melissa, look on the floor in the baby room. There are definitely more giggles than crying when our babies are out walking in the stroller or getting tummy time on the mats. Our staff makes sure EVERY baby is cuddled and given one on one time that creates a lasting bond with your infant.
First Steps Program
Crawling -18 Months
As your child begins to expand their world, we give them more space to explore…. In this classroom we transition to add more structure to your child’s day. They have their own playground and circle time, begin feeding themselves, play with friends, and most of all TAKE THEIR FIRST STEPS!!!
Early Preschool
18 Months - Potty Trained
Once your child has the basics of the school schedule down, they will be ready to join a larger group in a structured preschool class. We continue to work on language and self-help skills in this class, as well as how to share and most importantly how to USE THE POTTY!!!
With the help of our potty training contracts, our caring teachers, and you as a family will help your child gain the independence of using the potty by themselves.
Preschool
Potty Trained - 4 Years
Once your child has mastered the Potty, they will be ready for our traditional preschool program. In this class they will start on their journey to become lifelong learners. We use a play based curriculum that utilizes a monthly focus to encourage learning. Our classroom is set up with small group centers that allow free, creative play. Our teachers structure the day to allow for quiet activities like reading, art, and dramatics as well as outdoor play to let them get their wiggles out. In this class they have 30 minutes to 1 hour of structured lesson time daily, with a weekly focus on letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. Our goal is to gradually introduce them to the structure of a traditional classroom, while still giving them time to play and make friends.
Pre-Kindergarten
4 Years - 5 Years
Whether your family needs full day or part-time our Pre-K program is here to get those kiddos ready for the big leagues. Your child will spend most of their day in activities designed to get them ready for elementary school. In this class the students are encouraged to be self starters and learn through trying. We offer a structured program with activities that challenge them to grow. The big focus of their day is on writing and reading skills that will help them in their transition to school. At LSK our Pre-kers will spend the school year getting prepared for their next big step... Kindergarten. At the end of the school year we always have a wonderful graduation for these hardworking students to celebrate their achievement and yours as a family!
After School & Summer Camp
5 Years -12 Years
Our big kid program is split in 2 groups. We have Kinder and 1st in one class... and 2nd through 6th in another. Both groups come in from school and have homework time, a dedicated 30 minutes that they spend daily working on activities for school. Classes include art projects and outside time. School days are long and sometimes stressful for kids, so we want to give them some hang out time too.
During summertime and school holidays, LSK has Camp Days were we take field trips or have fun things like a petting zoo come to our center. Summer brings themed months and water days as well as extra time to keep up on what they learned during the school year.
Stop by to say, Hi!
Our Open-Door policy allows parents and family to come visit throughout the day. We have a security door that allows only people that are authorized access to the center, but we encourage family involvement and LOVE volunteers!
If you would like a tour stop by. Miss Melissa is always looking to show off her sweet babies, share a snack with our early preschoolers, or walk you through a preschool art project. You and your child are always welcome.

Our Center celebrates holidays and traditions, so Santa comes in for a visit and your children will have a special Christmas Program for you. The Easter Bunny has been known to hop in too. At Valentine’s Day we have a special family dance night and Halloween brings a hay ride to LSK.
The start of the school year is the much talked about Lone Star Kids Carnival that students will tell you is the highlight of Back to School. (Maybe because they get to dunk the director or give Miss Tibonnie a Pie to the Face). There is ALWAYS something going on at Lone Star Kids…
We value strong relationships with our students and their parents at Lone Star Kids. Because we understand ongoing communication between home and school is essential to your child's healthy development, we encourage you to contact us at anytime.
